Harderwijk Municipality

Gelder Logistics’ professional approach is a relief’

Harderwijk Municipality on the transport broker

Gelder Logistics recently carried out a special assignment for the municipality of Harderwijk. Students had created works of art that were intended for an exhibition during the Hanseatic Days in the city of Toruń in Poland. “It was the first time we used the services of Gelder Logistics,” says Riana Snel of the municipality of Harderwijk, “and it was to our great satisfaction.”

Successful collaboration worth repeating

A simple search for a reliable courier, via Google, led to the transport broker. “The contact, via e-mail and telephone, was pleasant and social. Gelder responded quickly to our questions and kept a close eye on the entire process.” Involving the transport broker proved to have several advantages. “Gelder Logistics’ professional approach is a relief. As a customer, you know that the entire process from door to door is organized for you, including administrative processing. A neat, fast execution of the assignment by a well-accessible partner. And a successful collaboration with a reliable transport service, which is certainly worth repeating.”

A history lesson from the transport broker

But what are the Hanseatic Days? For that we have to dive into history. It is about meetings of Hanseatic cities. The Hanseatic cities are members of the Hanseatic League, a cooperation organization of merchants from cities around the Baltic Sea and the North Sea. The Hanseatic League includes cities from Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and the present-day Netherlands and Belgium. Cities joined the league between the 12th and 16th centuries. They based their trade, which was modern for their time, on jointly recognized rights to trade in certain products, the legal form of the trading contracts and the fulfillment of the obligations arising therefrom.

Every year, one of the Hanseatic cities organizes a reception, to which all partners are invited. The Hanseatic Days of today serve to keep the idea of the international Hanse alive, to develop the self-awareness of European cities and to promote cooperation between them. The partners are also welcome to meet each other, promote their cities to each other and hold consultations. As a transport broker, we are excited to have been able to contribute to the Hanseatic Days!
